Let the waves roll in.
Let your toes get sandy.
Let the wind pull at your hair.
Let the uncertainty be.
You don’t swim
By grabbing the water.
You relax.
You accept,
You float.
And then you move
You glide
With it. Not against it.
You don’t have to fix everything.
You don’t have to solve everything.
In fact you can’t.
You can’t control very much in the end, it seems.
But –
You can breathe.
You can soften.
You can grow.
You can grow and swim
In the wild,
yes-
in the wild play
of the changing tides.
Extend your limbs.
Extend your fingers and toes.
And extend, with graciousness,
Your view on the world.
